Before the wedding, we will be hosting a Shabbat Chatan for our out-of-town guests. This is a special celebration held on the Shabbat before the wedding, bringing family and friends together to enjoy Shabbat meals, attend synagogue services, and gather before the wedding.
Attendance is optional. Out-of-town guests are warmly invited to join us for Shabbat dinner on Friday night and Shabbat lunch on Saturday afternoon.

During Shabbat Chatan, the bride and groom will be observing Shabbat and will not be available by phone or text from candle lighting on Friday, December 11 until Shabbat concludes on Saturday, December 12. They will also not see each other in person until the wedding day. During this time, the groom will be celebrating Shabbat Chatan at Chabad Alberta, while the bride will be staying at separate accommodations.

For Guests Who Observe Shomer Shabbat & Shomer Kosher
Please note that Calgary has a relatively small Orthodox Jewish community, and accommodations within walking distance of both the synagogue and our Shabbat events are limited. Our wedding venue, The Carriage House Hotel & Conference Centre, is approximately a 30-minute walk from the synagogue. As you make your travel plans, we encourage you to consider both walking distances and Calgary's variable December weather when choosing your accommodations.
As Calgary has limited kosher food options, guests planning to extend their stay beyond Shabbat are encouraged to plan their meals in advance. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Nathalie or David.
